Connecting seniors in the greater dayton area through food, fun, and friendship.
A Woodland Gala
That’s the theme of this year’s Holiday Banquet at the Kettering Church on Tuesday, December 2.
Be sure to enter the church from the north lobby to be greeted with holiday music by the Hamilton Recorder Ensemble. It’s okay to linger for a while or head to the fellowship hall to check in and reserve your place at a table, then come back to continue enjoying the music.
Our festive table decorations will be set with greenery and cute forest animals, snow and lights for a forest wonderland time together. The meal starts at 6 p.m.
The menu for the evening is vegetarian meatballs, baked potatoes, a side vegetable, two Christmas salads, bread, and for dessert cherry crumble with ice cream. Sounds delicious.
A vegan option is available upon request at your reservation.
Our entertainment this year is a little unusual: Timothy “Walks with Bear” Corbin, a Native American flutist who plays his own collection of native American flutes, will inspire and relax you with his haunting native melodies as well as a few traditional seasonal songs. He will also tell stories of how his instruments are hand-made and show how each flute produces its own unique sound. You will often find him on weekends playing his flutes outdoors at parks and fairs where people like to get back to nature.
The evening event costs $20 per person.
